Traffic II

Last week everything was bottled up here... trains stacked up in every direction. Today it was flowing smoothly... not fast but not parked. This is the old C&NW main west of Geneva, widened to 3 tracks with funding by Metra and UP.

The Kane County Sheriff pulled up behind my car and ran a plate check. He was very happy to see me not on railroad property. Asked me what I was doing (photographing trains), asked me my address to check it matched the plates, didn't ask for ID, reminded me to stay away from the right-of-way, and asked me how long I planned to hang around "in case he got a call"... then drove off. Cool!
