Switching St. Paul

An EMD SW-9 built in 1953 juggles cars in the Northern Pacific yards in St. Paul Minnesota in August 1968 trailed by an immaculate wood sheathed caboose with leaf spring trucks. Note the smoke stack in the distance behind the engine making it clear this was the NPR (for Railway), not an ordinary RR (for RailRoad).
