Description

In the distance is a Rio Grande diesel-electric locomotive. It and it's kind emptied roundhouses built to service steam engines. The turnable pit has filled with weeds. The doors no longer close and the rails are a way to get to other places. This building will be torn down soon along with thousands of others like it... many of which were already gone when this picture was taken.

I remember when they tore down the old San Jose roundhouse that we'd see when we rode CalTrain up to school. That was a sad day indeed. :(
