Description

It's 10:28 according to the clock on Chicago's Dearborn Street Station (the clock on Grand Central in the upper left says it's a minute later).

Under the shed is an EL E-unit. To the far right on the mail docks is a C&WI Alco. The N&W Geep is parked until the evening commuter run. On the far left a Santa Fe Fairbanks-Morse H12-44TS sets up another train and dead center a pair of GTW Geeps back down for the outbound to Detroit and the Canadian border.

Just another day at my favorite Chicago train station.

Excellent shot, Chris! I briefly lived in Chicago (2009-2010) and I quickly fell in love with it during my stay. Do you know where this scene is in relation to the Loop?

And those GT engines, my late grandfather's place here in MI had GT trackage that directly adjoined his property. [link]
I had so many opportunities to witness trains; I wish I had taken more shots. The most awesome thing though, was that they stopped the train one day, and my grandpa offered the engineer a quart of fresh strawberries for a ride. So the three of us rode in the cab of a unit like those GT's above. :D It was very loud, with tremendous vibration. But I loved it!
