The MoPac's GP35 fleet were the first locomotives on their roster to bear the Screaming Eagle logo on the long hood.

This set of road numbers was somewhat difficult to track down. There was the MoPac's ownership of the TandP that confused this, then the sale of some units to the CandEI and then a renumbering which preceded the disappearance of the MP into the UP hegemony.

Dolton, Illinois February 1, 1969... an oddly warm and dry winter day!

Nice picture! The composition is wonderful and subject matter fills me with nostalgia.

Good job!

Just curious, what is your connection to this? Your gallery hints at nothing in this genre.

(I have been startled by several deviants who have picked out some of my scans.)

Unfortunately I was not involved with these engines (or any) at any point in my life, but for most of my childhood and earlier tenage years I was in love with locomotives and studied at length any and all information I could get my hands on.

Sorry to be of little help.

No apology needed. I'm just curious.

And someday I'm going to post some Underground pictures.

(Mind the Gap!)
