This was an experiment. I'll have to go out and do it again switching to full manual exposure control. Each one of these pictures had slightly different exposures resulting in slightly different sky and grass colors and contrast.
July 25, 2008: I've lived near here for a long time and knew the trains were frequent in the evening but I never realized how close they were. Here are 4 westbounds running on 10 minute headway plus one eastbound (#169). I missed one as I was walking down to the tracks and blew another shot 10 minutes after the last one here. Threaded in between this there were 2 UP freights as well!
Went back to my in-laws for dinner and could hear the parade continuing. Wish I had brought my scanner. It would have been very interesting to listen to.
If you were to blot out the engine numbers, the only giveaway that you snapped five different trains is the window pattern on the cars... Neat combination.
An interesting thing to note, is that had the first one come through third, they not only would've been in order, but the train numbers would've grown consecutively. (127 first, then 133, 144, 161, 169).
Nice compilation.
