Riding on the Rock

In 1967 a couple of friends and I took a railroad trip from Chicago to KC, then North on the Rock Island to Minneapolis, then home again on the Q... night trains on each leg so we could spend the days in wandering the stations and yards taking pictures. Here it is early morning somewhere in Minnesota heading for Minneapolis looking forward at a train which paid it's way, not with passengers, but with mail.
