I hated this paint scheme then and I still do now. It was a cheap version of the original diesel scheme (behind) without any style. Fortunately it was short lived and was soon replaced by the Big Sky Blue scheme which is my all time favorite. Here are a pair of GP35's on the ready line in Havre, Montana, in July 1968.

I've been through Havre on Amtrak. Neat little town, from what I could see.

bnsf current paint job is a rip off of this paint scheme and the original bnsf pumpkin.

Nice shot. I agree about the scheme, too. Big Sky Blue is my favorite GN paint and second favorite scheme of any road (red & silver ATSF warbonnets are hard to beat :D ).
