I couldn't find this loco in any on-line roster but the grille declares that it is probably an F3. It's one of very few NYC "Lightning Bolt" paint schemes I ever photographed.
Seen here in the early December morning 1965, it is ducking under the Ogden Avenue bridge over the IHB in LaGrange. If anyone ever doubted the NYC parentage of the IHB, all you had to do was look at the Harbor's paint of the same era.
...and look at the uncovered autoracks back there! It wasn't too long after this that TTX started adding aluminum panels on everything and of course today everything is fully enclosed. DAMN VANDALS!

Can't get enough of these classic IHB LaGrange pix...Especially since I get pix there still to this day since 1986. I don't climb the BN(SF) overpass though...might not be a best practice these days!
