Light Rail Delivery I

Description

Every now and then a trip to trackside produces something unexpected. Crawling east on a yellow up the hill from the Fox River today came a single UP unit pulling a short string of six brand new Metro-North M8's headed for Connecticut. And the sky was extra special too. We've had a lot of storms this week and today the clouds were scudding across... huge billowing gray threats broken up by gorgeous patches of blue.

I too think this was unexpected. I mean when I saw the locomotive itself I thought little of it (sorry if it was offensive) but when I saw the cars, passenger cars, and the title "Light Rail..." I decided to take a looksy! This is totes amazing! A Union Pacific freight train pulling passenger cars. For some reason I thought this was heading west but instead it's heading east. My mind isn't always in tune with reality! I know it should be though.

But congratulations on getting this!

I wish our skys could look like that too and hopefully they will, maybe not next month although that's when monsoon season starts, but hopefully the month after.

I almost envy you, the passenger trains and the gray clouds (we mostly have freight trains, Union Pacifics mostly, and it's better than no trains at all) and blue skies, which are not bad in themselves, it's the heat that grinds my beans! At least we also have a streetcar system too. ^_^

Those look like Nippon Sharyo cars to me, the ones used in DMUs. I only know that because I've been studying DMUs lately and doing art of them. This is one of them

Tucson-Phoenix Commuter Rail Rendition 1 by WillM3luvTrains And this train is a Nippon Sharyo DMU and the first one I ever drew. I have other DMU artwork if you're interested.

But again, cool picture and congratulations on getting that rare shot!
