Finally... by classictrains Finally... by classictrains
It has been a long time since I've been able to add a new roadname to my roster... and this one I've been trying to track down for a long time.

An Iowa Interstate GP38-2 runs light from the UP's Shortline Yard in East Des Moines into downtown on old C&NW rails.

Atta boy! I love the IAIS, but they're far enough away that it's just easier (and cheaper) to go see the ICE corn lines or the BNSF along The River

Now thats a colour scheme that has something to it. And clean looking too ^^

Though somehow, the image seems a bit pixelated, especially visible at the power lines and the rails... What did you use to adjust the size?

I'm using some crude tools on my old laptop to post from out of town. I'll be going back to the originals and reposting all of these with borders and my name after I get home.

A lot of ties on heavily used routes are getting concrete.

I wonder if their first gen's are hiding around there. I imagine they won't left after the new power comes in a couple month's.

Very clean looking. I've seen a couple in Council Bluffs along with very clean or semi-clean KCS Grain cars.

Very cool! Great paint scheme! Is there some Rock Island heritage here? The logo is in the shape of the RI logo.

Yes. It is not a coincidence. Visit Dereck :icondeke8706: he has several pix of engines they have in heritage schemes.

As soon as I saw that shape, I thought Rock Island, it's a mighty fine road... :-) I'm glad they have a sense of heritage.

Yep... I've got a couple more images of reminders of the past. I don't know if I'll get around to posting them all... Found an old sign on the side of an old brick build where the Des Moines yard used to be: "Rocket Warehouse"
