Before the Pennsy and the Central merged they ran competing trains into Chicago. On a late afternoon in 1966 a A-B-A set of E7's pulls in to Chicago Union Station... near the end of an era.
Two years later units like these are renumbered into the ill-fated PennCentral and can be seen at LaSalle Street Station
Hmm, I have a more technical question about submitting these: How does it work that the same pic (with minor edits) appears in my message centre with an (updated) behind the title? I don't really know whether one just changes the file, because then I might have bombarded everyone with older pics, or whether one has to do something else with it.
When you reload a new image for an old deviation there is a checkbox which appears. It is checked by default and it says: "This edit is minor, your watchers will not be notified."
What I have been doing is going through my older deviations and adding my tag, New borders, and in several cases re-scanning with better colour correction. If I think the change is significant or there are 0-4 faves I will uncheck this box.
I have also been deleting a few. I'm trying to get to 999 deviations of things which people like. As you may have noticed, new watchers rarely go down into your gallery and look at some of your early work because there is so much to see.
I try not to do more than 1 oe 2 a day so you don't get flooded.
When you upload a different file, you get a box that you can check or uncheck to determine whether your watchers will be notified.
If you are uploading a significantly better version of your art (such as a clearer scan of a photo, a higher-res rendering of 3D art or fractals) you can uncheck the box and a notification will go out.

I thought about updating some old works in the future, and deleting some that I consider really horrendous
