Been away. Life has gotten a bit complicated.

Thought I'd check back and share a quick stop I made last weekend at what used to be the Milwaulkee Road / Elgin, Joliet & Eastern diamond at Spaulding Crossing. Most folks know the Canadian National took over the J and the Canadian Pacific owns much of what remains of the old Milw right-of-way. So now we have the intersection of two Canadian Class-1's in the heart of the American Midwest.

In case that isn't confusing enough, Metra actually owns the Milwa tracks behind me. CP dispatches it and CP has trackage rights. Stuck among the CN power one will find IC (as here) and EJ&E and stuck among the CP one will find Soo and DM&E paint. What a mish-mash.

Just taking a long overdue vacation/road trip. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep going on DevArt once I get home again and have to go back to cubicle life [link]

Yes, good to have you back indeed, even if it's only for a short while.

Excellent work here. I like the sense of scale between the 'roader and his unit.
