Description

After the merger that created the BN the roster reconciliation resulted in 800+ SD40-2's, way more than any other type. This shot was from the old Aurora platform in 1980... but it could have been anywhere on the BN system.

Thanks to :icondeke8706: Dereck and his reminder of the creation of the BN 37 years ago. He caused me to poke through my collection to find this shot.

The same thing happened when ATSF & BN merged in the 90s. Both companies still had hordes of those things floating around the rails, and they're still all over the place, especially in ATSF territory.
