Description

After awhile Metra scoots get boring. But every now and then a surprise appears. The first gallery car behind the engine in this picture is at least 40 years old. It is a repaint of one of the NorthWestern 2nd generation cars that I rode and photographed in the 1960's. [link]

Its sad that the replaced these old F40's with the new engines (which I think are quite ugly)...we occasionally get a double F40 on the BNSF line but thats quite rare... [link] (the put the F40 as the second engine)
